Editing Services

D Ann Williams is an associate agent with Emerald City Literary Agency, freelance editor, and sensitivity reader with over 10 years of experience. I read and edit across genres but have a soft spot for romance, speculative fiction (Afrofuturism and magical realism), and mysteries. As an editor, I have worked with Macmillan, HarperCollins, Hachette, Penguin Random House, Amazon, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Simon and Schuster, Sourcebooks, Quarto Publishing, and many self-published authors. I am a member of the Association of American Literary Agents, and comply with Section 8 of AALA Canon of Ethics which states, editing clients are not current or potential agenting clients. In layman’s terms: If I have ever edited your work, I will NOT offer representation as an agenting client.

For editing services, I provides a full range of editorial services from developmental edits to sensitivity reads and my rates are in line with Editorial Freelancers Association rates. Please contact me below to inquire about specific services, my editing calendar, and receive a quote for your project. A sample 10-page edit is provided for free. For a sample of past clients, see below.
